Ate in the restaurant of a Tuesday night in August. Place was busy and the atmosphere was good. We had a beautiful meal and the service was absolutely excellent. Eva was our server and she was so polite and attentive. She made our evening very pleasant and enjoyable. All staff were lovely, but we were so impressed with Eva. Would highly recommend this restaurant to others. Both starter and main course were fab. Only thing I didn't eat were the potatoes, boiled potatoes are my least favourite kind so I ordered the hash brown chips which were fab, I could have eaten a couple of portions😄

We stayed here for a two-night birthday break and, while the room itself was lovely, clean and in a great central location, unfortunately our experience was overshadowed by a completely sleepless night. The room was extremely warm, with no fan or air conditioning, so we had to leave the window open. While we expected some noise from the street because of the central location, we were unprepared for just how loud it was. On top of that, the noise from the room above, including people walking around and repeatedly using the bathroom during the night, made it impossible for us to get any sleep.

The lady working there kindly offered to move us to another room for the second night, but after such an exhausting night with virtually no sleep, we simply didn’t feel confident that another room would improve the situation and decided to head home instead.

The greatest disappointment, however, was how the situation was handled afterwards. I asked whether, as a gesture of goodwill, the unused night could be refunded or whether a voucher could be offered instead. While I appreciate that businesses have terms and conditions, I had hoped that, given the circumstances, some empathy and discretion would be shown. Unfortunately, both requests were refused.

It’s such a shame because the accommodation itself is lovely and we enjoyed both our dinner and breakfast. Had a little understanding or goodwill been shown, we would have happily returned. Instead, we’ve been left feeling disappointed by the lack of customer care when a genuine issue affected our stay.
